Fatemeh Hashemi

Board member

Born in 1960, Mrs. Fatemeh Hashemi is married and has two children. She earned a BSc in Biology and a PhD in International Affairs from the University of Warsaw. Since 1995, Mrs. Hashemi has served as the President of the Charity Foundation for Special Diseases. Additionally, she has held various positions such as:

  • Secretary-General for the Women Solidarity Association, since 1993
  • Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Special Medical Centre, since 2004
  • President of the Muslim Women NGOs Communication Network, since 1996
  • Member of the Board of Founders & Trustees for Tasnim School, since 2004
  • Secretary-General for the International Union of Muslim Women NGOs, since 1995
  • Advisor to the Foreign Minister and Head of the Department of International, Social, and Women’s Affairs from 1997-2001

As President of the Charity Foundation for Special Diseases, including Thalassaemia, Mrs. Hashemi has dedicated significant efforts to raising scientific and social awareness among patients and communities about this disease. Her work focuses on creating favorable conditions to attract government authorities and private sector attention to the treatment and social challenges faced by patients with thalassaemia.
