The majority of people with thalassaemia (over 70%) live in the developing world with limited access to proper care and treatment. Thalassaemia International Federation works to promote awareness, support studies and research for the continuous improvement of prevention and clinical care, and to disseminate the knowledge, experience and expertise gained from countries with successful control programmes to those in need.
